Hello from Trondheim
Opening a blog from a small university town near the Arctic circle, with a list of the things I want to write about.
I grew up in Madrid. For the last few months I have been living in Trondheim, a small Norwegian university town that gets dark in December and stays bright until midnight in June. This is where I finally gave in and started writing.
Why a blog
I already have a CV. The CV is honest but compressed: a couple of lines per job and project, enough to pass a screen. It does not show how I think, where I got stuck, or what I learned the hard way.
A blog fits the gaps. I want a place to:
- explain the problems I am working on, in my own words;
- keep notes that future-me can actually search;
- practice writing the same ideas in English, Spanish and Chinese.
What I expect to write about
- Robotics simulation. I work with Vortex NTNU on an underwater-drone project. ROS2, C++, Stonefish, and the constant surprise of sensors that do not behave like their datasheet.
- Systems and algorithms. Short notes from coursework, from
gdbsessions, from the moments when a data structure finally clicks. - Living in three languages. Notes on switching between Chinese, Spanish and English — what changes when the language changes.
A small note on format
Posts are written as plain Markdown. If a post only exists in one language, I mark it clearly — I would rather publish one careful translation than three rushed ones.
If you see a typo, it is not a metaphor. Send me an email.
Welcome. More soon.
